This Preorder Policy explains how pre‑release items are sold and fulfilled through the LanternCards online store. It applies in addition to our Terms & Conditions, Shipping Policy, and Refund & Returns Policy.
1) What Counts as a Preorder
Items labeled Preorder (or similar) are not yet in stock. Estimated release/ship dates shown on product pages are provided by manufacturers or distributors and are subject to change.
2) Payment, Authorization & Price Lock
- When you’re charged. Unless stated otherwise on the product page, payment is captured at the time of order. Some payment methods may place an authorization that later converts to a charge.
- Long lead times. If an authorization expires before release, we may re‑authorize or contact you for an alternate payment method. If we cannot secure payment within 5 business days, we may cancel the preorder.
- Price lock. Your price is locked at checkout. Later price changes (up or down) do not affect existing preorders.
- Taxes & shipping. Taxes and shipping are calculated at checkout; if your address changes, taxes and shipping may change at fulfillment.
3) Release Dates & Delays
- Manufacturer changes. Release dates can shift due to production or logistics. We will update product pages or send notices as we receive updates.
- Extended delays. If a product is delayed more than 30 days beyond the original estimate, you may request cancellation for a full refund at any time before shipment.
4) Allocations, Shortages & Cancellations
- Allocation risk. Final quantities we receive may be lower than expected. If so, we will fulfill preorders in timestamp order and may reduce or cancel quantities equitably across affected orders.
- Refunds for unfulfilled items. Any unfulfilled portion will be refunded in full to the original payment method.
- Limits & anti‑scalping. We may set per‑customer limits, cancel duplicate or suspected‑bot orders, and restrict resellers to protect fair access.
5) Mixed Carts & Split Shipments
- Ship together by default. Orders containing both preorder and in‑stock items will ship together on the latest release date by default.
- Split shipments. If offered at checkout, you may choose to ship in‑stock items first (additional shipping charges may apply). Once selected, shipping choices cannot be changed after fulfillment begins.
6) Address Changes
- Before fulfillment. You can request an address change before we begin fulfillment.
- After label creation. Once a label is created or an order is shipped, we cannot change the address. Reroutes are not guaranteed and may incur carrier fees.
- Region restrictions. Some items cannot ship outside certain territories due to licensing; such restrictions will be noted on the product page when applicable.
7) Cancellations & Refunds
- Before shipment. You may cancel a preorder any time before shipment for a full refund unless the product page states otherwise (e.g., non‑refundable deposit).
- After shipment. Standard eligibility under our Refund & Returns Policy applies. Sealed products must be returned unopened.
- Bundles/promos. Manufacturer promos or bonus items are not guaranteed unless explicitly listed on the product page; substitutions may occur based on availability.
8) Singles vs. Sealed (TCG‑Specific)
- Singles. Preorders for individual cards are listed by expected set and condition grade (e.g., NM). Final print details (e.g., stamp or set code) may vary by production run but will match the listing description.
- Sealed products. Factory contents, pull rates, or chase odds are not guaranteed by LanternCards. Sealed items must remain unopened to qualify for return.
9) International Preorders
- Duties & taxes. Orders ship DDU (duties/taxes unpaid) unless stated otherwise. You are responsible for import charges.
- Delays. Customs or carrier backlogs can extend delivery beyond estimates; this is outside our control.
- Refusals/abandonment. If refused or abandoned, refunds (if any) will exclude original shipping and any return fees once/if the parcel is returned to us in original condition.
10) Communication & Updates
We’ll email order confirmations and tracking when shipped. For significant changes (e.g., date shifts, allocation reductions), we’ll notify you at your account email. Please keep your contact details current in your account.
11) Abuse, Fraud & Compliance
We may review and cancel preorders for suspected fraud, policy violations, or resale abuse. We comply with all applicable laws and manufacturer/distributor requirements.
12) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Preorder Policy as our processes or manufacturer requirements change. Updates will be posted with a new effective date and apply prospectively.
